TIGHTER COILS. BIG SAVINGS.

InvoDane very much enjoys working on manufacturing equipment, either designing and building it from scratch or improving its productivity. 

A manufacturer of wire mesh fencing knew that he could lower his shipping costs if he could roll his wire into tighter coils. He asked us to take a look at his current equipment and procedures and see if could come up with a “deceptively simple solution” for him. And we did.

The solution was to exchange the solid rollers into spring loaded compressible rollers.  After a coil is rolled tight, this new roller is compressed so that the tightly rolled coil can be released from the roller.  Since the diameter of each roll is smaller now, the same shipping container that holds 16 rolls of wire mesh can now hold 25 rolls, an increase of 56%!
