Longer Life Span for Smelter Conveyor Belts

InvoDane carried out a Finite Element Thermal Analysis of two separate conveyor systems operating at a nickel smelter. InvoDane studied and devised alternative solutions for more efficiently managing the conveyors’ combined heat and structural loads … the two primary factors causing wear and tear on the conveyor.  InvoDane was able to capture the complex heat and structural phenomena with a Finite Element (FE) model by simplifying the problem and making practical approximations. Several different cooling options were studied and their relative efficiencies were analyzed using a combination of steady-state and transient FE analysis.
